Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Financial Coaching For?
Everyone! Both individuals and couples just starting out, preparing for retirement and beyond. It is never too late to start!
I am the one who pays the bills and takes care of our finances, should I bring my spouse?
Absolutely! When it comes to money, it is important to make decisions together. One of the biggest arguments couples have is over money. Start fresh together.
Is a Financial Coach the same thing as a Financial Advisor?
Not exactly. Though there are a few similarities, coaches and advisors differ in a few key areas. A financial advisor focuses more on investing money while a financial coach works through the day-to-day money management. A financial advisor may offer insurance packages, manage your money for you and some even file taxes. A financial coach, however, educates clients on healthy money habits and guides them in making smart, financial decisions for both the present and future.
Are you a Nutritionist?
At this time, I am not a nutritionist. My background is in overall health and wellness, but I am looking into possibly adding a nutrition element in the future.
Are you a Certified Mental Health professional?
No, I am not a certified mental health expert, nor do I claim to be one. Discussions that may seem as mental health counseling in nature is strictly coincidental. Any suggestions or advice offered is strictly based on my own opinion and not meant to be confused with expert knowledge or practice.
What does Personal Coaching involve?
Personal coaching is a broad term. In essence, this is a service for anyone desiring change and needs a little help setting goals for themselves. It can be someone wanting a job promotion, job change or a whole new career and needs a little push in the right direction. It can be the busy wife or mom who needs a little help with balancing their to-do lists. It also may be for those who just feel stuck either within themselves or from the environment around them. Finally, it can include those who desire a deeper faith or question what faith means to them.
Do you charge for Faith sessions?
Spiritual faith is free. The God I believe in, the Creator of the Universe and of you and me, is free. If you want to learn more about the One I believe in or to grow in your own relationship with Him, it is free for you as well.
I already have goals of my own, I just need someone to help me stay on track. Do you offer just Accountability services?
Yes! The need for on-going, consistent and reliable accountability is the first idea that led to the creation of this coaching business. Accountability is offered in addition to other services or on its own. An initial Coaching Session is necessary to discuss your requirements and design a plan for check-ins to keep you on track. At the end of the term, a follow-up session will determine next steps, if needed.
Can I add on full coaching later if I choose just Accountability?
Yes! If you discover you need a little more than just regular check-ins, you can request to add on other services at any time.
The Internet is loaded with free information on every service you offer. Why should I pay for a something I can figure out on my own?
You are completely right; the internet is filled with how-to information. Having all of the information at your fingertips does not guarantee your success, though. My job is to help you navigate through the information, set realistic goals, create a plan designed specifically for you and stick by your side to the end. I cannot promise you success; that is up to you and the work you put in. However, studies show that if someone commits to another person, there is a 65-95% greater chance of success depending on how frequently they connect.
There are many coaches out there that do what you do. Why should I choose you?
True, there are a lot of people out there who have similar coaching practices and it can be overwhelming to find the right one. So, let me walk you through what I offer and let you decide. During the first consultation, we will go over your wishes and expectations and determine if we are a good fit. From there we will move to a customized coaching schedule based on your requirements. We will also set up consistent accountability check-ins catered to your needs ranging from daily to a few times a month. Accountability is one key to success and my commitment to you. From the first session to the end, I promise to challenge you to push yourself, encourage you through the highs and lows, ask the tough questions and celebrate your achievements.
Are Coaching Sessions Virtual or In-Person?
If you live in the Detroit metro area and prefer to have In-Person coaching sessions, I would love to meet! However, in an effort to be inclusive to clients both near and far, sessions are designed to be virtual done through video chat. Once a Coaching Session is scheduled, a link will be sent to your email address inviting you to the appointment.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
Our time (both yours and mine) is valuable; a commodity we do not get enough of. As your coach, I will do my best to honor your scheduling needs. Coaching sessions may be canceled or rescheduled up to 24 hours prior to appointed time, any fees paid prior to the session may be forfeited. With the understanding that life happens, exceptions will be decided upon per instance. If the session needs to be canceled by me, the coach, less than 24 hours to the appointed time, fees will be refunded or applied to a future appointment.
When is payment due for services?
Payment is due at the time of booking your first Coaching Session to secure your spot and confirm your commitment. For multi-month packages, the first month fees are due when the first Coaching Session is scheduled, and each consecutive month will be billed at the beginning of the month.
